The RetroSound range of in-car radios
has been created to meet the needs of classic car enthusiasts. This range of radio & MP3 players maintains the original ‘twin knob’ (DIN-D) style mounting required for many classic cars, giving traditional looks while offering the modern media playing technology. RetroSound radios can play music from a variety of sources; MP3 and WMA files can be played directly from a USB Flash drive. Alternatively an external source, such as an iPod or other MP3 player, can be played through the auxilliary mini-jack inputs.The use of the rear mounted full size USB or mini-jack ports allows the use of standard leads so the Flash drive or MP3 player can be left connected and out of sight. It also features a standard AM/FM tuner with 30 presets, integrated 60W X 4 amplifier and pre-outs for external amplification. Utilizing the versatile “InfiniMount” adjustable shaft/bracket system (patent pending), allows the installer to fit not only in an existing DIN-D aperture but to create a unique installation depending on the layout of the cars dash. The brackets allow for multiple positions of the control knobs. This is a breakthrough in classic car radios offering flexible mounting options with traditional looks. The unit does not include a faceplate. A range of faceplate & knob kits are available separately to allow for greater customisation, see listing below. The main body of the unit is compact and lightweight and can be fitted in the fascia as required or mounted under the dash, using the U bracket supplied, for a simple installation. The unit’s compact size W = 90mm x D = 165mm x H = 40mm (W = 3.54" x D = 6.57" x H = 1.57") makes it ideal for most installations. Model One
The Classic sound is an entry unit with lower specification. It shares many of the same features as the model one but does not have the rear USB or mini-jack inputs and it only features a mini-jack on the face surround. This radio can be dash/console mounted on MGA, MGB, Sprite, Midget, TR2-4, TR250-6, Spitfire, TR7, most Jags, and AH BJ8. Can be remotely mounted on any other negative ground classic.
