| May 18, 2013-June 4, 2013 | LBCarCo Adventure XII Spring 2013 - (Say Hi to Jan and Jeff. Non-vending event, just for fun) Adventure 2013 will focus on the French province of Provence and the Italian province of Tuscany. Both areas are full of centuries of history and are blessed with a setting of timeless beauty. Not to mention cuisine that makes the best of local produce and an abundance of wonderful wines. Our local newspaper had an article this year on Tuscany, calling it a place with a lot of “dolce far niente” – the sweetness of doing nothing. That sums up what this trip will be about. We will include brief stays at each end of the trip in two cities brimming with centuries of history and iconic sights- a couple of days in Paris (after flying there from the US) and the same in Rome, with a return flight from there. And there will be a stay along the quiet part of the Italian Riviera (the Cinque Terre) between the time in Provence and Tuscany. We'll travel like the locals - by train - so getting there will be almost as enjoyable as the destination. We'll include open top bus tours of both Paris and Rome and enjoy a nighttime cruise on the Seine. We'll take day trips in Provence to vineyards, a fishing village and towns up in the hills. We'll visit local street markets, have a wine tasting, and explore the tiny villages of the Italian Cinque Terre. There will be walking tours of the walled towns in Tuscany. And there will be plenty of time for independent sightseeing - from the museums of Florence to the ruins of ancient Rome - and the opportunity to greet old friends and make new friends. Please note that this Adventure is fully booked but we do have a wait list. You can also inquire about future Adventures by sending an email to LBCarCoNews@LBCarCo.com with Adventure Travel in the Subject Line. |

The annual show will be held on August 11th, 2013 with the picnic and traditional tour scheduled for August 10th. This year instead of selecting a specific car model to be honored, we have chosen the MG , which stands for Morris Garage. History recognizes the octagon marque that first appeared in the November 1923 Oxford newspaper: We are celebrating 90 years of MG motor cars. All models of the automobile are encouraged to attend. Alden is a unique little village on the shores of the third most beautiful lake in the world, according to the National Geographic magazine. There are many pleasant shops and fun places to eat. The town is the kind of place you like to keep a secret and introduce to your special friends. An added event this year will be “Valve Cover” racing. Similar to the Boy Scout version of “Soap Box Derby,” the vehicles are constructed using valve covers. We will be posting the rules later. Our club has been challenged by the Michigan chapter of the New England ‘T’ Register Club, who is also furnishing the racetrack. We will announce pre-registration in May with show day registration 9:00am to 12:00pm. The first 50 pre-registered cars will receive a T-Shirt. | October 5, 2013 - October 22, 2013 | LBCarCo Adventure XII Fall 2013 - (Say Hi to Jan and Jeff. |
